Zgodovina otoka <\/h2>\n

Ime Unije izhaja iz gr\u0161ke besede \u00bbheneios\u00ab, ki pomeni polje. Hrva\u0161ki ekvivalent imena bi torej bil \u00bbUpolje\u00ab, kar pomeni na polju. <\/span><\/p>\n

Prve podatke o Unijah je posredoval bene\u0161ki jezuit Alberto Fortis v svojem znamenitem delu Potovanje po Dalmaciji iz leta 1774. Unije imajo malo prebivalcev, ki \u017eivijo skromno. Glavni izdelki so les, med in vosek. <\/span><\/p>\n

Morje okoli otoka je bogato z ribami, ve\u010dinoma tuno, sku\u0161o, sardelo in tudi lignji.
